چکیده

The liver is an essential organ in the body for detoxification drugs and toxic substances. present study was designed to investigate hepatoprotective effects of L-Cysteine, Ursodeoxycholic acid (Ursoflor), Silymarin against carbon tetrachloride-induced injury rats. Twenty adult male rats were used this work; they randomly divided into five groups (4 rats/group). first group served as control received 0.5 ml normal saline orally daily; second injected intraperitoneally with CCl4 (1.5 ml/kg B.W. twice a week), third treated silymarin at dose (200 mg/kg + daily, fourth Ursoflor drug (50 orally+CCl4 daily. While fifth cysteine (50mg/kg by oral gavage) +CCl4. end study, biochemical assessment showed alterations enzyme activity which indicates hepatocyte due toxicity, production ROS indicated elevated levels MDA Peroxynitrite noticed, improved partially antioxidant effect L- Cysteine, acid, Silymarin, these results further backed histological examination that caused severe including high number fat droplets deposition cytoplasm hepatocyte, clear vascularization appeared disorganization cells determined, on other hand, has good protection injurious CCl4.
